As Michael said, I was referring to population (and thanks everyone for not getting offended or attacking me).

And regarding Chris' point about New Orleans being a party town... I have another example to prove my point - April 27, 2002 in Madison, Wisconsin (we can all agree Madison is not a "party town" and population is less than 500,000 ppl.). Ripe produced Psychosis VII with Richard Humpty Vission, Deep Dish, DJ Rap, Micro, DJ Swamp and a host of others at the Alliant Energy Center (a Colliseum) and attracted 3000 attendees @ $35 presale. All-night, multiple lasers and giant screen video in a clean, safe, non-club venue.

Madison, WI is another example of a small town with a slamming scene.

I hate always being the one to point out the negative about Phoenix. It's just that I'm unhappy with the state of dance music here and this shines through whenever I discuss this topic.

I want kids in Phoenix to experience large, well-produced shows. It's such a privilege to have regular access to top-notch events and I BELIEVE in my heart that it is possible in Phoenix, Arizona! At the end of the day, it's a numbers game - and we have access to the popluation necessary to promote large events.
